Frost & Sullivan Names TerraGo Technologies Notable U.S. Defense Market Participant

Innovative geospatial intelligence software provider delivers solutions to enhance discovery, analysis, integration and collaboration

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 11, 2012 -- Frost & Sullivan has named  TerraGo Technologies a notable market participant in its recently released “Analysis of the U.S. Defense Geospatial Market” report.

TerraGo® geospatial intelligence software and GeoPDF® maps and imagery are among the most widely adopted solutions to produce, access, update and share geospatial information and applications with anyone, anywhere. Its solutions are deployed in mission-critical roles in the U.S. Dept. of Defense (DoD) and intelligence agencies, international defense partners as well as governments and businesses worldwide. TerraGo is a privately held In-Q-Tel portfolio company.

“TerraGo exemplifies the innovation that smaller, more agile companies can provide to defense customers and partners,” said John Hernandez, Frost & Sullivan Aerospace and Defense senior industry analyst. “The acquisition in July of Geosemble Technologies and its GeoXrayTM solution, coupled with new applications such as TerraGo Mobile for Android and TerraGo 3D Composer for Adobe Acrobat are further evidence of the company’s ability to deliver advanced geospatial technologies.”

“As a proven geospatial provider to the defense and intelligence market, TerraGo is honored to support the warfighter mission,” said Rick Cobb, TerraGo president and CEO. “We look forward to continuing our close association with our customers and partners and to developing innovative solutions that facilitate geospatial intelligence discovery, analysis, integration and collaboration.”

In 2012, the U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) and TerraGo developed eIndex Server, a browser-based application to deliver on-demand maps and imagery from the AGC’s extensive library of geospatial resources. Leveraging the same technology platform, TerraGo also delivered to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) an on-demand geospatial data integration solution to automatically integrate and update data from disparate, dynamic sources and produce multi-layer map books for crisis managers and incident responders in support of its  Wide Area Recovery & Resiliency Program (WARRP), which is administered by the U.S. Army.

For the Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A), the U.S. Army also has purchased TerraGo software to produce, access, update and share geospatial information and applications in support of warfighter efforts around the world. Under DCGS-A, the Army’s premier intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) enterprise for the tasking of sensors, analysis and processing of data, exploitation of data, Army personnel will leverage TerraGo Publisher® for ArcGIS® to produce TerraGo GeoPDF maps and imagery and TerraGo Composer® for Adobe® Acrobat® to quickly compile thousands of GeoPDF maps into intelligent, portable, interactive and dynamic digital map books.

In addition, TerraGo Toolbar® is available enterprise-wide in other branches of the U.S. DoD to empower warfighters to use virtually any computer to access 2D and 3D GeoPDF maps and imagery. Warfighters using TerraGo Toolbar also may easily make and share geo-referenced updates using notes, audio, video, Web services or other information in connected or offline environments.

TerraGo partners BAE Systems, GeoEye, Intergraph, Overwatch and Skyline also have incorporated TerraGo GeoPDF production capability into solutions for their defense and intelligence customers.

TerraGo is headquartered in Atlanta. In addition, the company has an office in Washington, D.C. dedicated to its federal customers, a Manhattan Beach, CA office to accommodate additional engineering staff as well as support resources to serve TerraGo’s growing West Coast customer base and an office in the United Kingdom to serve customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
