Updated Elevation Data Inventory Available from NOAA, USGS, and FEMA

November 06, 2013 -- The U.S. Interagency Elevation Inventory is the website to visit to see where high-accuracy elevation data are available. This comprehensive, nationwide listing is updated annually and is now current as of August 2013. The data resource includes information about over 1000 lidar data sets, as well as bathymetric data that includes NOAA hydrographic surveys, multibeam data, and bathymetric lidar. The data are shown on a map with their geographic extents, and each entry includes information such as vertical accuracy, point spacing, date of collection, and often a direct link to download data.

The U.S. Interagency Elevation Inventory is an ongoing project between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Geological Survey, with contributions from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The online tool, map service, and downloadable geodatabase can be found on the Digital Coast at www.csc.noaa.gov/inventory
