RemZzzs And 10th Annual NFLPA Smocks & Jocks Art Show

PHOENIX, Feb. 9, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  The week of the big game in Phoenix was filled with a plethora of special events, including the NFL Players Association's 10th annual "Smocks & Jocks" Art Show, where artwork from active and former players and others connected to professional football was auctioned to benefit two deserving charities: the Gene Upshaw Players Assistance Trust and the Opportunity House.

Among those in attendance were David Gergen, Sleep Apnea Director for the NFLPA's Hope Program and Robert Rutan, developer of RemZzzs® CPAP Mask Liners. Mr. Rutan is working with Carl Eller, former MN Vikings pro player & Hall of Famer in their own campaign, "It's a Game-Changer," promoting CPAP therapy success and compliance. Carl also is an artist is his own right, providing two art pieces for the auction.

During conversation, David Gergen publicly stated, "Every time I give a CPAP mask to an NFL player who has Sleep Apnea, the player will also be fitted for RemZzzs® CPAP Mask Liners. I see the value of the RemZzzs® Liner for those individuals in need of CPAP treatment. Andre Collins, Executive Director of the NFLPA is doing a fantastic job in supporting former NFL players in the area of testing and treatment for Sleep Apnea."

"CPAP therapy for the treatment of Sleep Apnea is very effective, provided that the mask is worn regularly and the person gets the right amount of air while sleeping," added Robert Rutan. "The problem comes when the mask is too uncomfortable or wakes the person with noisy air leaks, and they choose not to wear it every night, or maybe only for a couple of hours. In that case, CPAP therapy is not helping the person to benefit fully from the treatment," he explained. Mr. Gergen continued by saying, "As an example, I've read that Reggie White, who passed away in his sleep from Sleep Apnea, actually had a few different CPAP masks in his closet, not being used."

Former and current NFL players and other individuals may contact David Gergen via the Pro Players Health Alliance website, http://www.proplayersleep.com/ for more information about sleep testing and treatment options.

For those who need CPAP therapy for treating Sleep Apnea, Carl Eller, David Gergen and Robert Rutan all highly recommend using RemZzzs® as an accessory to aid in wearing the CPAP mask effectively.
