Whiteside County, Illinois Selects Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) to Implement New GIS Software Solutions

Longview, TX – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that Whiteside County, Illinois has procured new products from GTG’s LG GIS software suite. The City will be implementing licenses of LGdispatch and LGmobile.

LGdispatch is a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) mapping interface that provides E-911 dispatchers with an interactive map displaying the location of all emergency calls. LGdispatch offers advanced geo-coding capabilities. Addresses can be validated against address points, polygons (tax parcels) and lines (road network).

LGmobile is the latest breakthrough in mobile software solutions. LGmobile is a field-based mobile GIS mapping software solution used in public safety vehicles. It has a simple, easy-to-use interface that allows users to access important and vital dispatching information. Active incidents, AVL units and specific user events are all within the LGmobile interface.

James Kelt, GTG’s Regional Manager and head of GTG’s Texas office stated that “Whiteside County, Illinois understands the benefit of GIS applications for Public Safety. Officers in the field and Dispatchers in their 911 center can now see where calls for service originate from and in turn respond faster to life and death situations. Before the purchase of the LG applications, Whiteside County needed to know if the LGmobile product would connect to their CAD system via the unique I-WIN network. After testing the applications with their network, the County was comfortable with the purchase of the tools.”

The County’s utilization of GTG’s LG products highlights the value of our products as an integrated and comprehensive set of GIS solutions that leverage the County’s investment in their current applications. As with other fast-growing communities, Whiteside County has embraced cutting-edge technology to improve public safety services for its citizens.
