Telvent's substation automation client base continues to grow

Madrid, September 14, 2006 - Telvent GIT S.A. (Nasdaq: TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company is announcing the continual advancement of the SAGE product line, evolving from legacy Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) into the optimum Substation Automation Platform.

The SAGE product line is intended to meet the complex requirements of the integrated substation by providing features that make it easier to interface with a broad range of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), as well as having the horsepower to run a wide range of automation applications. SAGE includes Telvent's entire protocol library, enabling it to talk to a wide range of IEDs and master stations without added costs and without limitations.

As a result of the quality of the products, many utilities have elected to invest in the SAGE technology. Texas Utilities (TXU), in the Greater Dallas / Fort Worth Texas area, has been working with Telvent in developing an ongoing plan to upgrade their existing substation infrastructure. Currently, SAGE is being used to replace other vendor models. Conectiv provides electricity and telecommunications to southern New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia as well as natural gas to northern Delaware. Conectiv is in the process of changing out their antiquated CDC remotes with Telvent SAGE. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the steward of medical and behavioral research for the Nation. NIH has recently updated all legacy remotes with Telvent SAGE.

Telvent's SAGE family of automation platforms incorporates the speed, power and versatility needed to achieve optimum system performance. Over the past 30 years, Telvent has developed considerable expertise in protocol emulation, making Telvent an industry leader in the supply of automation platforms. Telvent has developed an extensive library of protocols, serving over 20,000 units installed for a wide variety of control systems worldwide.

"Telvent's focus has been to continue to listen to our client community and leverage the experience we have to align our substation automation architecture for our client's future. This has resulted in the inclusion of network connectivity and web interfaces, while maintaining our proven ability to retrofit, thus providing value and flexibility for our customers", says Chris Riggs, Telvent's Business Manager for Substation Integration Solutions.
