October 5, 2006 -- Snowflake Software is making its debut at INTERGEO 2006 by showing just how “open” its technology is. Based on OGC and ISO standards, the products developed by Snowflake are just as applicable for the German and Dutch market place as they are in the UK.

Through Snowflake’s initial association with the UK’s national mapping agency Ordnance Survey, the team at this British company has unrivalled experience in the area of GML and XML. From an early date, Snowflake identified a benefit in developing generic, ‘schema aware’ technology that could work with any GML application schema - ensuring the adoption of GML not only on a regional level but across international borders.

Snowflake will be showcasing its GO Loader and GO Publisher products working with numerous GML standards such as AAA-NAS, OKSTRA, Bplan, CityGML and TOP10NL. Specific demonstrations will include: importing and exporting GML 3 data based on the German AAA-NAS data model; the unique schema translation capabilities of GO Publisher WFS and data harvesting for Spatial Data Infrastructures

The “data harvesting” capabilities of the Snowflake product suite enables users to exchange and gather data from numerous disparate sources and data models into one common standards’ based web service. Since both GO Loader and GO Publisher are “schema-aware”, this can be applied to any schema and any data content, enabling users to share data not just locally, but regionally and internationally.
