The City of Port Angeles, Washington Selects Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) to Implement GIS Software Solutions

Portland, Oregon – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the City of Port Angeles, Washington has procured several GIS software solutions from GTG’s LG GIS software suite. The City will be implementing LGviewer Work Request Module, LGviewer, LGaddress and LGcommunity maintenance module. These applications will serve to expand the City’s existing GTG software platform.

The City’s objective is to utilize these applications to integrate with GIS, thereby providing an integrated platform that will enable City personnel to leverage existing land-based data and applications. The combined use of these applications offers a comprehensive expansion of the City’s information technology infrastructure.

LG Viewer Work Request Module enables users to generate and query work requests as well as view job orders directly from a GIS interface. Users can also place and locate work orders/task orders through a GIS interface. LGviewer is a visualization and analysis tool that allows a user to drill down into GIS data layers and disparate corporate databases. LGaddress allows users to maintain street centerlines and address points via an intuitive ArcEngine based GIS application. The LGcommunity maintenance module integrates existing SunGard HTE applications and databases with geographic information system (GIS) technology offering unprecedented bi-directional functionality between HTE and the LG interface.

David Kuhn, GTG’s Western Regional Manager and head of GTG’s Portland office stated that, “with the addition of these LG applications the City of Port Angeles will achieve true GIS interoperability.” GIS provides the perfect interface for managing land-based information and associated records. “Port Angeles will be able to use these interfaces to manage their Public Works business operations more efficiently and ensure more timely and accurate data across their organization,” concluded Kuhn.

GTG provides several LG products that provide a GIS interface for many land and public safety modules. The City’s implementation of these LG applications continues to add to the rapidly expanding number of cities and counties that are utilizing LG GIS as a distributable and unifying technology.
