The Village of Oak Lawn, Illinois Selects Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) to Implement GIS Software Solutions

May 24, 2007 -- Longview, TX – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the Village of Oak Lawn, Illinois procured software and services from GTG. The County purchased LGdispatch with LGcommunity Connect.

LGdispatch with community connect is a GIS software solution that allows both HTE Public Safety Computer Aided Dispatch users to integrate AVL (Automatic Vehicle Locations) with LG mapping software. The software allows GPS enabled vehicles, incoming 911 calls, and Phase II calls to be tracked via the GIS interface. It takes GPS data from vehicles and places a moving map symbol on the GIS map interface that corresponds to the vehicles location in the real world. Historical AVL and CAD information is maintained with the product.

James Kelt, Regional Manager for GTG, stated, “The Village of Oak Lawn has taken a significant step in making their town a safer place to live and work. LGdispatch with community connect will give first responders and dispatcher the tools needed to help save time, money, and lives. The LG GIS and GPS technology is an important part in making sure that a call for services is properly mapped and that the correct unit is dispatched to that call. By merging the mapping and CAD technology, the dispatchers can now visualize these data in a geographic perspective. ”
