In January 2007, GIS Development Private Limited, an India-based geospatial communication photo of award presentationcompany, honored Jack Dangermond, president of ESRI, with its Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented during the opening ceremonies of the 10th Map World Forum in Hyderabad, India. The Map World Forum is hosted and organized by GIS Development.

On receiving this award, Dangermond stated, "This is a great honor that really says much about the combined efforts of so many dedicated people working today in the GIS industry around the world."
