ESRI (UK) Launches Productivity Suite 1.1 and LocatorHub GIS software

November 2007, Aylesbury: ESRI (UK), the leading provider of geographically enabled software solutions, has announced the launch of Productivity Suite 1.1 and LocatorHub for UK-based Geographic Information System (GIS) professionals using ESRI’s ArcGIS 9.2.

Productivity Suite 1.1 now supports Ordnance Survey’s (OS) Integrated Transport Network dataset, enabling easy interpretation of the data for route planning with ESRI (UK)’s Network Analyst product, without the need for complex coding. For example, local authorities can plot the most efficient routes for buses or rubbish collection using this feature, quickly and simply.

Productivity Suite 1.1 also integrates with OS’ Data Validation Service (FVDS) which means that any Geodatabase is cross-checked and reports produced detail missing information so that the database can be validated against OS data.

Multiple occupancy houses and locations without a postal address can be identified using Productivity Suite 1.1 as the software easily converts OS MasterMap™ Address Layer2 dataset. Productivity Suite can run large data loads as a background operation so that other work within the Suite is not interrupted and can be completed simultaneously.

Neasa Foley, head of product development , ESRI (UK) said: “Productivity Suite 1.1 has been designed specifically for UK GIS professionals’ needs to work with our core products like ArcGIS 9.2, demonstrating our software’s flexibility and openness.”

LocatorHub is a user-friendly gazetteering framework that offers a central resource for a company to organise and manage all its address data. Using inbuilt business logic, LocatorHub can search any gazetteer dataset including OS AddressPoint™ or National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) information, for example, ensuring results of the search are the most up-to-date available without duplication.

LocatorHub integrates seamlessly with an organisation’s existing technology systems and multiple datasets in an easy-to-use, single user interface, while being scaleable so that a small number or thousands of users can benefit from using the framework.

Neasa said: “LocatorHub has been designed to take the pain out of developing GIS applications, providing a user-friendly framework for GIS professionals that offers a strong foundation for an organisation’s gazetteering needs.”
