Pictometry Recognized for Outstanding Contribution to Emergency Services

Award Presented by City of Rochester and Monroe County Officials During National Telecommunicators Week

Rochester, NY - April 20, 2009 - Pictometry International Corp. was honored by City of Rochester and Monroe County officials April 15 for providing the technology the City’s 9-1-1 call center uses daily to reach people in need.

The award was presented to company leaders during the City’s Emergency Communications Department Annual Awards Ceremony, an event scheduled to coincide with National Telecommunicators Week (April 13-17).

“Pictometry has made many outstanding contributions to our call center and provide us with the technology we use to locate sick or injured people who are unable to give us their location when they are in need of help,” said Rochester Emergency Communications Department Director John M. Merklinger. Easy-to-use and conveniently accessible to mobile users online, Pictometry imagery is used by 9-1-1 call centers and county assessors in 48 states across America.

As the leading provider of aerial oblique geo-referenced imagery, Pictometry uses its proprietary image capture process to produce Pictometry Intelligent Images™. This imagery is captured at an angle to reveal detailed locational information and a “birds eye” view of properties and land features. Pictometry provides users with multiple, high resolution, 3D-like views and enables imagery with measuring capabilities, so users can view and measure distances, heights, elevation and more -- directly on imagery. “Pictometry is committed to providing first responders with the best visual information tools possible which makes this honor extremely meaningful to us,” said Pictometry President and CEO Richard Kaplan, adding “on behalf of all of our employees, I thank City of Rochester and Monroe County officials for this recognition.”
