TYRONE, Ga. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 9, 2009 — Less than one year ago Osmose introduced Online Data, the web hosting of customer data in a digital geospatial format, describing results from a variety of inspection, maintenance, rehabilitation and data capture projects. With more than 90 customers now receiving their data online and new ones being added every week, Osmose is now hosting over 1 million structures through Online Data.
Michael Peters, Osmose vice president of technology support, has led the effort to integrate this capability. “The early success of Online Data is the result of a real team effort among our sales, operations and technology groups. We continue to receive positive feedback from customers and we have developed enhanced features and functionality based on their input,” said Mr. Peters.
Delivery of reports via the internet is not a new concept, but Osmose Online Data is intended to provide users with the capability to manage maintenance programs, initiate and track necessary repairs and export information to others in their organizations. Mr. Peters noted, “We are currently in the design phase for enhanced end-user functionality. New features and functions being analyzed include enhanced Joint Use program tools, new data export capabilities and expansion of user definable symbology.”
Online Data was designed to provide Osmose customers with easy but secure access to inspection, maintenance and survey information anytime and anywhere they have a connection to the World Wide Web. The display includes a user-friendly map interface along with robust data query and reporting tools. Online Data uses ESRI ArcGIS Server 9.3 technology to support advanced data management, mapping, spatial analysis, imaging and mobile capabilities.
