Creating High-Performance Geospatial Web Applications for Real-Time Enterprise Access
December 3rd, 2012 by Mladen Stojic, President of Hexagon Geospatial
Today, organizations are embracing geospatially-enabled web services and websites to drive smarter decisions. Web applications have become the standard for secure sharing and analysis through real-time enterprise access.
From easily creating web map applications, to providing sophisticated, web-based visualization and analysis, GeoMedia WebMap enables access and manipulation of an enterprise’s geographic information store.
Intergraph Geospatial Portfolio 2013 includes a new release of GeoMedia WebMap, providing a vital component to the portfolio’s server applications. Users can easily create web applications for better geospatial data analysis. An on-demand webinar outlines the benefits of this offering. In terms of features and functionality, this noteworthy release features:
GeoMedia WebMap 2013 also includes advanced and powerful dynamic labeling of features. This technology is also available in GeoMedia 2013. Feature labels are regenerated at scale, providing an easy-to-read map.[RDH1]
The new web-based administration console will enable users to create and configure all aspects of server-side engines, web services and web applications in one place.
Performance is enhanced with an OGC Web Map Tile Service (OGC WMTS), allowing users to serve WMS data. This will also be supported by the new GeoMedia WebMap Publisher application that can consume and render WMTS data. And for rapid and superior image delivery to client applications, GeoMedia WebMap client applications will be integrated ERDAS APOLLO Essentials.
As we are closing in on the official launch of Intergraph Geospatial Portfolio 2013, I just wanted to remind everyone to check our new microsite dedicated exclusively to this launch. Not only is this a unique era for Intergraph, but it’s also exciting to see all of the changes happening in the geospatial sector, where new more elegant web-based solutions are coming to life.
We are happy to be part of this new rebirth where more streamlined interfaces bring a modern, relevant, fresh approach to implementing workflows.
