How can your organization keep up with the changing world? Landscapes shift, cities develop, technology races forward. How do you identify the right geospatial solutions for making informed business decisions and ensuring mission effectiveness?
The new Hexagon Geospatial 2015 Power Portfolio provides the tools you need to easily produce, provide, and deliver your geospatial content. We help you understand change and derive the information you require to make confident, informed decisions about the impact of that change.
Within the Power Portfolio, the Producer Suite empowers you to collect, process, analyze and understand raw geospatial data. It provides the tools you need to derive and deliver usable information with our desktop-based GIS, remote sensing, and photogrammetry technology.

Where should you have lunch at HxGN Live 2014? This year at HxGN LIVE 2014, we are launching the IGNITE lunch session where you can spotlight one of your most innovative solutions for cash prizes!
The IGNITE luncheon gives any HxGN attendee 5 minutes and 5 slides to talk about how they are using Hexagon Geospatial technology to make a difference in the world.
Showcase your successful solution, demonstrate your ground-breaking application, expound upon your original ideas: the format is up to you! Who knows? You may just take home the grand prize!
We all have stories, and this is your chance to share your story with innovators like yourself.
When: Tuesday June 3 at 12 p.m.
Where: HxGN Live Conference, MGM Grand, Room 118
If you want to share your story, you must register to reserve your spot. Space is limited. There are only have 9 slots for this, hour luncheon. You do not have to register to join us for lunch and listen to the presentations.

Creativity is the driving force behind everything we do. The ability to think differently and connect ideas is what allows all of us to develop next-generation solutions that revolutionize the world.
That is why we are celebrating the creative acumen of our community at HxGN Live 2014 in Last Vegas next month. We are calling on all attendees to submit their own genius ideas for ways to build on Hexagon Geospatial’s technologies.
At the INSPIRE Party, we will be demonstrating participants’ submissions, giving out CASH prizes, as well as shining a light on the collective creative genius among our community.

Real-life problems arise very quickly, change continuously, and can involve geographic information in a large variety of formats, sources and types. Does your analysis software make sense of it all in order to make rapid, informed decisions based on the timeliest data?
Good, dynamic analysis should be able to quickly access inputs from diverse sources, including elevation surfaces, vectors for roadways or waterways or utility lines, point locations for incidents, 3D models for buildings, LiDAR point clouds and video. It should also be able to nimbly adjust to the ever-changing parameters and circumstances of the real world.

Do you ever wonder how much data is produced on any given day for a small business? From expenditures, to incoming revenue, from daily operations, to payroll and taxes, there’s no limit to the data that can be tracked and analyzed. Now imagine how much data that any government has to handle.
Government agencies face the daily challenge of managing massive amounts of geospatial data, which come from ever increasing sensors and other sources. This includes data from imagery, LiDAR, and mapping/feature data. (more…)

Point cloud data has been around for years, but geospatial professionals are still challenged with how to best utilize it. This powerful surface model is highly accurate and costly – and many people are at a loss as to how to most effectively use it. While there is increasing adoption of point cloud data, many users struggle to fully integrate this new content in their workflows.
- What is the difference between photogrammetrically-derived point clouds and point clouds collected by airborne LiDAR sensors?
- How can I use this data to take accurate 3D measurements?
- Point clouds are 3D data. How can I best visualize them? Do I need special software?
- How is this different from traditional elevation sources?
- What are RGB-encoded point clouds?

Realizing the true potential of mobility, local government organizations are quickly developing strategies to provide more business workflows on smart mobile devices and are moving away from cumbersome, desktop-based GIS systems.
Thankfully, today’s smart mobile and tablet devices finally have the processing power, storage, and network capabilities to support high-end applications including powerful data access, superior visualization, creation, query and analysis.
For example, the Henry County Water Authority (HCWA), the public water utility in Henry County, GA, recently received demonstrations of key mobile solutions from Intergraph to support end-users and customer service departments who require field inspection on their infrastructure assets.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) make data capture flexible, fast, easy and attractive for applications throughout the geospatial market – both in the defense and commercial arenas.
The challenge is ensuring that these advantages are fully extended throughout the value chain, and that the secondary steps of data processing and dissemination to end-users are also fast and flexible as well. From collecting data to sharing it with professionals in the field, it is vital for organizations to leverage this information seamlessly for enhanced decision making. (more…)

We know that your time is too valuable to perform the same tasks over and over again. But GIS has become an integral part of decision-making, and it’s clear that no one can afford to reinvent the wheel. To expedite obtaining business-critical information, you want a solution you can build once and use again, enhancing along the way.
IMAGINE Spatial Modeler offers raster, vector, and point cloud manipulation for creating reusable, adaptable, sophisticated spatial models that save you from the drudgery of repetitious data processing.
At HxGN Live 2014, we are offering a training session titled, “Constructing Customized Solutions with the IMAGINE Spatial Modeler,” which will showcase new insights on point cloud and vector operators in the modeling environment. The training session will also show you the power and flexibility of ERDAS IMAGINE’s data processing.

Geospatial data applications have reached near-ubiquity for any organization. From leveraging unmanned aerial vehicle or UAV data to mobility and e-commerce to building a ‘smart city’ and cloud computing, this valuable data is the driving force for enhanced effectiveness of information technology.
With the use of geospatial systems being nearly limitless, today’s organizations are further challenged in keeping up with the latest trends and innovations. We recently ran a post about how HxGN Live 2014 conference is offering 40 hours of instructor-led, hands-on training (which are free!) within the Geospatial track. These trainings are aimed at enabling attendees to learn how to operate our solutions more effectively and efficiently.
