HxGN Live Hands-On Training Workshops

Tuesday, March 11th, 2014

As GIS professionals, you are constantly striving for more. Visualize more clearly. Analyze more effectively. Report more concisely. Do more.

This is only compounded as organizations begin to realize the importance of considering the geospatial dimension of their decision-making. Because all data has a geospatial component, your role is becoming more and more valuable within your organization.

So how can you continue to provide more value to your organization? By investing in your knowledge and learning to efficiently operate your geospatial tools.

One of the key benefits of Hexagon’s Global Network conference, HxGN Live 2014, is the over 40 hours of instructor-led, hands-on training within the Geospatial track. Led by our thought leaders and dedicated professionals, you are guaranteed to further enhance your effectiveness within your organization.

A Unique Challenge for All Future Geospatial Leaders

Tuesday, June 25th, 2013

The geospatial sector is comprised of some of the most innovative thinkers, solving the most pressing governmental and businesses challenges. A key part of nurturing this culture of ingenuity is teaching and inspiring the next generation of geospatial leaders.

Intergraph is embarking on an ambitious effort to cultivate creativity amongst students with our inaugural Geospatial Challenge.  The challenge will allow students to flex their problem solving skills using Intergraph’s innovations.

As such, we are calling on students who are participating in Intergraph’s Global Education Program, Intergraph U, to submit an abstract describing the scope of a problem, their geographical area of interest, and the dataset(s) and Intergraph solution(s) used.

Using the Human Senses to Fully Understand the Geospatial Sector

Thursday, June 20th, 2013

As we headed into HxGN Live 2013 two weeks ago, I was reminded of how many people don’t really understand what we do for a living.  To the layman, the geospatial sector can seem very complicated, and when you mention geospatial data processing, image compression or photogrammetry, people’s eyes tend to glaze over.

I believe there are better ways to communicate the power of geospatial solutions, and it comes down to thinking about our human senses and we use them on a day to day basis – something we all fully understand.

As humans, we continually take in information through all of our five senses. Our senses continually collect information about the change we experience. This sensory information is processed by our perception in ways that allow us to decide and act.  Our perception identifies, organizes and interprets the information our senses collect. For example, if you are crossing a road and your eyes sense that a truck is bearing down on you, your brain will process the information very quickly and tell you to act (i.e., jump back on the street curb).

By having the ability to process data through our senses, we are able to make smarter decisions that will keep us safer.   At Intergraph, along with the other Hexagon companies, this is precisely what we do:  help organizations see, process and act upon information for smarter decision-making.

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013

Next week, more than 4,000 Hexagon users will convene in Las Vegas for HxGN LIVE 2013 — Hexagon International Conference.  The event will provide tremendous opportunity for our users to network, gain key training insights into our Intergraph Geospatial 2013 portfolio and much more.

I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by got geoint?, the official blog for the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) for a podcast that offers a detailed preview of what is to come next week.

In addition, Rob Mott, Vice President of Geospatial solutions for Intergraph Government Solutions, joined me for this interview and provided insights into our solutions for government, defense and intelligence.

Below is the full podcast.

HxGN Live2013: Geospatial Vision and Strategy for Making Smarter Decisions

Monday, May 13th, 2013

While many of the sessions at HxGN Live 2013 will focus on training to help better maximize Intergraph Geospatial’s solutions, there will also be tremendous opportunities to learn about today’s most dynamic geospatial solutions and noteworthy customer implementations.

Since launching Intergraph Geospatial 2013, users have experienced how geospatial solutions can truly drive smarter decisions and support their configurable workflows.   We have held world tour events worldwide to communicate and showcase this story locally since January 2013.

On Tuesday, June 4th, 2013, we will be hosting our Geospatial Vision & Strategy session at HxGN Live, inspiring our users to think creatively about how they can use our solutions to solve the most challenging situations, as well as enhance business decisions and processes.
