is this a joke. Its showcasing a handheld gps running arcpad 7. That version hasn't been on the market since 2009?! What about new devices like Ashtech Mobile Mappers, Juniper Archer-XF101, or the new BAP Flint. Why do you run promos on old technology?

Very cool technology. There is a big future in mobile GIS applications like this, in 2D and 3D. Our company, Evari GIS Consulting, successfully used ESRI's iPad application to support a streetlight infrastructure retrofit project for the City of San Diego. Check out the blog post here: http://evarigisconsulting.wordpress.com/2011/09/30/gis-and-the-san-diegostreet-light-conversion-project/

Work crews in the field were able to access the complete streetlight database on iPads with the ESRI app. Work done in the field on iPads was transferred to a public-facing website viewable in real-time. This type of technology encourages worker efficiency and enables project management to have access to current information in a way never before possible.

Since the launch of Capturx for ArcGIS at the beginning of 2008, Adapx has had a lot of momentum including 500 new clients and two new software products (Capturx for Excel and ADR). We continue to break new ground in how digital pen technology is used and we are developing innovative solutions as our clients like NASA, City of Nashua , Santa Barbara Fire, Phoenix Police, and many more can attest to (Case studies here - http://www.adapx.com/Case-Studies/ ). At next week’s ESRI show, we’ll be previewing our latest product, Multimodal Capturx™ for ArcGIS, the next phase of Natural User Interface technology. Teams can use multiple modes of input – handwriting, sketch, and voice – to more quickly and accurately navigate, annotate and create objects in ArcGIS with Tablet PCs, touch screens, and smart white boards. Be sure to watch the GIScafe video or stop by our booth (604) at the show.

Why Adapx again? Their technology is simple enough for us to understand already. It was cool 4 years ago.
