New advances in technology with cloud and mobile computing offer new and exciting ways for local governments to share information with the general public. Below are our favorite 5 new apps for local governments to share information:

Parks Finder
The Parks Finder application provides residents and visitors an easy way to find parks and recreation areas near them. Designed with ease of use in mind, search, routing and detailed facility information is provided. The Water Access Finder app is designed for those looking to discover local water recreation facilities. The Polling Place Finder helps citizens locate their election polling place, comment on conditions at the polling place, and obtain information about current elected officials. Public Information App
This app provides both information sharing with citizens and the ability for public feedback. Current information on construction, utility and transit projects is provided, plus water a sewer information. Citizens can also provide feedback and results including concerns such as crime, road problems, gas leaks and graffiti. Intelligent Information Maps
Maps provide a perfect way to share information. Given the locational component of much of the available public information, intelligent navigable maps provide an easy way to share with citizens targeted information. Local events, public facility information, farmers markets, maps providing updates on local economic development efforts.
