Khaled El Emam discusses the challenges to de-identify complex data sets such as those containing longitudinal and geospatial information. The seminar begins with an overview of the type of data that we are concerned with and then explained why common de-identification methods will not work on these. This is followed by a demo of PARAT (version 2.3) showing how it can handle this kind of data. Dr. El Emam is a senior scientist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and the founder and CEO of Privacy Analytics Inc.
