The typical workflow in most current GIS systems focuses on creating networks in the geospatial
view and then creating schematics as an afterthought. This flies in the face of the way many
networks would naturally be built however, which is to first create a schematic of how the
network should be connected, and then place it in the correct area in the geospatial environment.
