Conservationists will soon have access to local and global data by means of an Internet geospatial metadata portal. As part of a collaborative effort within the conservation community, ESRI is building the infrastructure of the Conservation GeoPortal (www.conservationmaps.org). This GIS-enabled portal allows individuals, organizations, and governments with common goals for sustainable environments to share information to support environmental decision making and scientific understanding
