This tutorial replicates part of the Los Angeles
Fire Department (LAFD) Air Operations
(Air Ops) data processing workflow. It
demonstrates how to use rapidly calculated
longitude and latitude values for flight path
points, convert selected points into a closed
polygon, and calculate perimeter and area for a
selected flight polygon using ArcGIS 9.1 and a
third-party ArcGIS extension, XTools Pro.
