Ozone pollution is a very important environmental concern: it is highly reactive and can result
in various negative consequences for surfaces with which it comes into contact. Ozone pollution
is a phenomenon, which incurs damages wherever its concentrations are high enough and
therefore needs to be analyzed on a spatial basis. This warrants an Applied Geographic
approach to assessing the methods, which are available to analyze ozone concentrations in a
spatial context. Monitoring stations have been set up by the Ontario Ministry of the
Environment and Energy (MOEE) to measure ozone pollution levels on a continuous basis.
