There are two main ways to obtain geographic data for
your application: internal data creation and data
purchase.
Creating your data internally may be cost prohibitive
and could stall your project due to the effort involved.
While creating your data internally does allow you to
have control of the data set by creating exactly what
you need, data creation is an on going process.
Geographic data needs to be constantly updated to be
relevant and current. New roads and subdivisions are
constantly being created, land use classifications
change. To ensure successful analysis you need to have
an accurate, up-to-date database for your application.
