Environmental science instructor Mark Ericson, one of the 2006 ESRI Special Achievement in GIS Award winners, uses ESRI ArcView software and the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension as an educational tool for connecting Santa Fe Indian School students with science and their communities. Students apply GIS to community, environmental, agriculture, and even utilities mapping projects.
