The purpose of this document is to share a system design methodology that promotes successful deployment of
geographic information system (GIS) technology. Guidelines include appropriate rationale and logic to deploy
and support a system that will satisfy initial performance needs for most of ESRI's customers. Once the initial
implementation is operational, the system environment can be further tuned and adjusted to fit specific customer
requirements.
