The 550-square-mile Upper Cahaba Watershed, in addition to being a primary source of drinking water for metropolitan Birmingham, Alabama, is nationally recognized for its biodiversity and recreational value. The purpose of Upper Cahaba Watershed Greenprint is to help inform decision makers about land use, conservation, and land development in the watershed. The Greenprint is one part of the ongoing effort to protect and improve the Cahaba River.
