In keeping with the Mission Possible
theme of the 2007 GITA Annual
Conference & Exhibition, we asked the
GITA Board of Directors to discuss the
many possibilities they see for our industry
in the coming year and beyond. Not
surprisingly, they see a bright future for
both the end-users and vendors of
geospatial technologies in part due to the
excitement that Google and the other
online mapping sites have brought to
the industry. Our fearless prognosticators
predict a healthy mix of opportunity and
challenge as the industry expands to
accommodate new users. Some of them
caution that in these exciting times of
change, we must also remember to focus
on our traditional goal of making data
more accessible to the next generations
of geospatial technology consumers.
Read on for words of wisdom from these
geospatial industry leaders.
