Running commands on a remote machine (remote execution or remoting) is valuable in a number of circumstances. One obvious case is when a user would like to set up a task on a workstation using a Graphical User Interface (GUI) but would like for the “grinding” part of the command to run on a different machine, freeing up her workstation for the next task.
