The City of Corvallis completed a formal information systems planning process Fall 1996. A
key finding resulting from this planning effort was that the City had good staff and computing
resources, yet had difficulties executing large IS projects in a timely fashion. Other findings
were that the City's facility inventory update process needed to be improved, and its
proprietary database applications weren't being used to their full potential. Key strategies to
address these needs were essentially to integrate, streamline and automate business processes
and related technologies.
