Longboat Key is a barrier island community that stretches for 12 miles
along the west coast of Florida. It lies just north of Sarasota, with the Gulf
of Mexico to the west and Sarasota Bay along the island’s east shore.
With 8,000 permanent residents, Longboat’s population grows to
approximately 20,000 during peak season, as tourists and snowbirds come
to enjoy all the warmth, beauty, and recreation the island has to offer.
