Georgia Power is the largest of five electric utilities which comprise
Southern Company. Georgia Power has more than 2 million customers in
all but six of Georgia’s 159 counties, and the utility covers 57,000 of the
state’s 59,000 square miles. Georgia Power has been providing
electricity to Georgia for more than a century with rates that are more
than 15 percent below the national average.
