Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) resides along the Chesapeake Bay and encompasses 72,000 acres of land and water, 510 miles of road, more than 2000 buildings, 189 miles of utility lines and 389 miles of electrical distribution lines, some of which date back to 1917.
As with many DoD installations, the cantonment (“built up”) area is similar in size and density to a small city.
