Geographic Information Systems has become an interdisciplinary tool to capture, store, analyze and display data from many sources. Academic institutions like the University of British Columbia (UBC) have realized the power of using this tool to bring many datasets into one platform. The Human Early Learning Program at UBC is capitalizing on this technology in order to work with community groups to examine the health of the pediatric population in the province of British Columbia.
