As the capital of China, Beijing develops at a rapid pace, and has become the politic and economic center of China. Chongwen district is one of the old city districts of Beijing, which is located southeast relative to city center (Tiananmen). It spans an area of 16.46 square kilometers and its population, at present, has reached over 430,000 individuals (346,205 in 2000 Census). With the development of the city, they found it difficult to manage various components of the city, such as bridges, street bridges, underground access, parking etc. Knowing the power of GIS, they believe GIS can give them an efficient way to mange the city.
