Motivations for corporate mergers are to enhance capital, save cost by integrating local or global operations, and retain/gain competitive position. Once the statutory merger is accomplished, management and cultural issues are resolved; the next major challenge companies face is business process and subsequent IT solution unification. To accomplish the stated benefits, unifying the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes and supporting IT systems merit high attention.
