GPS is an abbreviation that stands for "Global Positioning System" and is used in many different industries throughout the world to monitor and track mobile assets, such as vehicles, boats, ships, airplanes, school buses, as well as people. GPS tracking technology is also used in personal security systems, Emergency Management Systems (EMS), hazardous material tracking or HAZMAT tracking, prison parolee tracking, sexual offender tracking, wildlife and endangered species tracking, and vehicle theft recovery.
