Ethiopia Makes Major Purchase of DAT/EM Systems Software

Anchorage, Alaska, November 1, 2011, 2011 – The Ethiopian Ministry of Urban Development & Construction, Urban Development Capacity Building Office (UDCBO) has recently completed the sale and installation of 29 SUMMIT Evolution workstations from DAT/EM Systems International. DAT/EM Systems International, along with its representative in Ethiopia, Corporate Computer Center (3C PLC), has dedicated effort and time to fulfill its obligation under a contract for the supply of hardware  and software for the 150 Selected Towns Base Map Preparation project in Ethiopia.

In conjunction with the World Bank, the Ethiopian UDCBO office selected the SUMMIT Evolution digital photogrammetric workstation developed by DAT/EM Systems International and related hardware to support their base map preparation for 150 towns throughout Ethiopia.  

According to Stan Moll, DAT/EM’s International Business Development Manager and Project Lead, “this purchase of state-of-the-art digital workstations by the Ethiopian government will allow them to efficiently accomplish their goal of developing current and geospatially correct Digital Base Maps from satellite imagery for urban planning and development activities and also digital base map preparation for other big projects planned in the Growth and Transformation Plan of Ethiopia, such as agriculture, infrastructure, utility, etc  projects.
