Dotted Eyes adds Urban Paths to its MISO platform

November 24, 2011 -- Dotted Eyes, one of the UK’s leading GIS development houses, is delighted to announce that it has added Urban Paths, the latest addition to Ordnance Survey’s ITN layer, to its web service platform, MISO.

Ordnance Survey’s ITN Urban Paths theme is the latest addition to the ITN Layer and was developed to provide a greatly enhanced understanding and management of the urban environment. The vector data set covers all urban areas within Great Britain with an individual extent greater than 5 sq km – accounting for more than 62,000 sq km.

The data set has undergone Dotted Eyes’ renowned styling to make it immediately manageable to its customers, enabling them to spend their time gaining value from the data rather than processing the raw dataset. It is expected to provide considerable value specifically in the areas of Asset Management, Emergency Planning, Environmental Control, Public Health, Route Planning, Civil Contingency and Education.

Urban Paths is being distributed to Dotted Eyes’ SuperpOse and InterpOse customers, with the relevant data rights, as part of their maintenance agreement. These customers have been invited to download the data via its hosted web services platform - MISO. Launched earlier this year, MISO now forms a central element to the services Dotted Eyes provides to its customers.

Ben Allan, CEO of Dotted Eyes, commented: “We’re finding that more and more of our customers are now moving to our MISO platform simply because it provides them with all the benefits of our software and services but without the overhead of running their own installations. Urban Paths is just one of the many data sets as well as new services we’ll be adding to MISO over the coming year.”
