  • Azimetry bridges gap between LiDAR's explosive growth in data collection and the processing of that data.

BELLEVUE, Wash., Jan. 12, 2012 — (PRNewswire) —  Azimetry, Inc. is a data processing company that provides LiDAR processing services in collaboration with LiDAR data collection companies.

"Azimetry is already a leader in the field of LiDAR processing because we saw the need for a highly qualified, US-based company to help on the logistical end of the growing demand for LiDAR mapping," CEO PK Samal said. "Because of our extensive background and decades of combined experience in GIS (Geographical Information Systems) technologies, I knew that we could fill that need effectively."

LiDAR mapping is a rapidly growing technology with a multitude of applications in varied industries. As the GIS and mapping providers seek to migrate from 2D to 3D, they've turned to LiDAR as the most expedient, cost-effective option. Growth is only expected to continue as new uses become apparent with the growing need for economy-boosting infrastructure projects. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation has even mandated that LiDAR technologies be used for utility work.

As the industry grows, much of the processing work is currently sent overseas, but Azimetry, which is 100% on shore and US-based, is reversing that trend. This leads to local job creation.

"There's no better time to be in this business, especially when it's completely US-based," Samal said. "We have ample opportunity for growth, and we have the technology and the team in place to capitalize on that opportunity."

Azimetry works with industry partners to collect, classify, and model data. The collaboration produces a quality, cost-effective product with rapid turnaround.

As one of the only US-based LiDAR data processing companies, Azimetry continues to grow steadily. Operating from their secure, state-of-the-art headquarters in Bellevue, Washington since September 2011, the demand for Azimetry's services continues to increase.

"Our team is very highly trained, and they're dedicated to producing quality results," Samal said. "As we continue to grow, we will continue to hire talented professionals to help us meet the increasing demands."
