Updated and expanded postcode maps for Russia
January 26, 2012 -- The new Russia Map Edition from GfK GeoMarketing features a new six-digit postcode map for the Russian cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg and surrounding areas. The map edition also includes many additional updated maps of the country's postal and administrative boundaries. These maps serve as an ideal basis for detailed market analysis and planning in Russia.
Available for the first time in the edition is a map of the approximately 2,200 six-digit postcode regions comprising the provinces (oblasts) of the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg as well as the greater metropolitan areas. "The new map provides street-level coverage of the detailed postal boundaries in Moscow and St. Petersburg," explains Klaus Dittmann, head of GfK GeoMarketing's cartography division. "These cities are important economic centers and there is consequently high demand for detailed maps to support sales and marketing efforts that target these enormous metropolitan areas." The map scale for the four oblasts comprising Moscow, St. Petersburg and surrounding areas now corresponds to approximately 1:10,000 (urban areas) to approximately 1:100,000 (surrounding areas). The GfK Russia Map Edition 2012 contains a total of 15 individual layers and is available in all standard map formats.
