Forte Design Systems Expands Worldwide Presence

Cites Explosive Growth in U.S., Japan, Growing Number of Production Projects in Korea

SAN JOSE, CALIF. –– May3, 2012 –– Forte Design Systems™, a leading provider of software products that enable design at a higher level of abstraction and improve design results, today announced it is expanding its sales and support team after explosive growth in the United States, Japan and Korea.

“Business in the U.S. has more than doubled from 2010 to 2011,” says Brett Cline, Forte’s vice president of marketing and sales. “In other regions, our business has grown by as much as 300% in less than three years. More importantly, usage of our Cynthesizer product on production-level designs has increased sharply during that same period as more customers switch over to SystemC high-level synthesis.”

For example, Forte moved to a direct sales channel in Korea in 2009. As a result, it finalized several large, multi-year purchase agreements of Cynthesizer™ SystemC high-level synthesis (HLS) in 2011, resulting in a large number of production designs driving the need for more sales and support personnel.

In recent months, Forte has hired several pre- and post-sales field application engineers (FAEs) in key regions who are assisting project teams that use Cynthesizer to reduce time-to-market pressures by designing at a higher level of abstraction. FAEs are responsible for helping customers deploy successful methodologies that work in conjunction with their existing tool flows and for educating them on how to achieve the best overall area, power, and performance for their application. Forte’s FAEs are local product experts that bring with them the knowledge of more than 10 years of project successes to make adoption and first time success with Cynthesizer easier for design teams. 

Forte will offer continuous demonstrations of Cynthesizer in Booth #1430 during the 49th Design Automation Conference (DAC) June 4-6 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.  The demonstrationwill highlight Cynthesizer’s complex hierarchy, custom transaction-level modeling (TLM) interfaces and other advanced features on an ARM-based image processing system with control- and datapath-type blocks.
