With PureGWT webGIS apps on mobile devices get easier and more performing.

Ghent, Belgium – June 22, 2012 – Geosparc, the company professionally supporting the webGIS software Geomajas, today announced several new plug-ins bringing software developers again more and new functionalities to build great webGIS applications.

The PureGWT plug-in is a lightweight client without widget library dependency and, as such, ideal for mobile applications and devices. The Rasterizing plug-in allows vector layers to be rendered on the server. This offers both improved performance and styling. The style is defined using SLD and gives more options and possibilities. The Editing plug-in improves the normal editing to make it even more powerful and more intuitive. The Reporting plug-in allows you to generate reports using JasperReports. You can include details about the features and also map images. Finally the PureGWT core widgets plug-in provides you with additional widgets for PureGWT.

Geosparc now counts no less than 24 plug-ins for Geomajas. The plug-ins announced today will be available as from July 16 2012. For a full overview go to

Geomajas makes it possible to unlock the full potential of geospatial data via webGIS apps. The software enables users to create, publish and manage maps while being able to share, edit, analyse and update the geospatial data in a secure way. What makes Geomajas really unique is its strong client-server focus. The processing, styling, filtering, caching etc. of geodata always happens within a secure context on the server side and not, as most webGIS software do, in the browser. This makes Geomajas applications scalable and very performing, keeping the thin client a real thin client. Geomajas is developed, tested and supported by a team of professionals at Geosparc while also being an open source community project.
