ASTEC Launches Gislet - A GIS Online & Offline Mobile Client

February 18, 2013 -- ASTEC, the provider of Smallworld™ GIS software and solutions, announced that its GIS mobile client for industry – Gislet, is officially launched.

Gislet is a solution dedicated to the field workers to allow access to your company’s GIS data in the field. Simple and interactive, it gives you the ability to view, search and navigate over the assets. Redlines grant the ability to easily mark faults, leaks, etc. and make comments directly on the map. Gislet was created as an Android native app to deliver unmatched responsiveness, stability and seamless communication with a wide range of built-in devices.

Online mode provides a real-time access tothe up-to-date asset data taken directly from your company’s GIS system. You are also able to immediately send feedback from the field to the GIS system.

Offline mode provides uncompromised reliability in access to your asset data despite of your location or network coverage. All required data are prepared in form of an GIS extract and uploaded on the mobile device. An additional part of Gislet solution is a set of tools that will allow you to easily prepare and manage such extracts. Incremental extracts are also supported!
