Boundless Partners with MongoDB, Inc.

Alexandria, VA — February 18, 2014 — Boundless is pleased to announce a new partnership with MongoDB Inc., which has emerged as a fast-growing and exciting open source company. MongoDB has garnered attention through the ongoing development and adoption of its eponymous NoSQL database solution, which is optimized to address many of today’s Big Data challenges. With this new relationship, Boundless strengthens its commitment to open source innovation, improves interoperability with OpenGeo Suite components, and enhances its ability to meet the most pressing challenges faced by the company’s ever-growing roster of clientele.

Commenting on this new relationship, Boundless CTO Juan Marin said: “At Boundless, we have been using MongoDB for some of our tools, like Mapmeter, with great success; MongoDB offers easy horizontal scaling and schema flexibility for modern web applications and distributed systems. Moreover, MongoDB offers the most advanced geospatial capabilities for a NoSQL database, a feature that we expect to increasingly leverage in the near future.”

In addition to using MongoDB to power hosted services such as Mapmeter, Boundless will soon support the use of the database with OpenGeo Suite, a complete standards-based solution for managing geospatial data and delivering reliable geospatial services to applications across the enterprise.
