Fletcher-Thompson and Solus4 Announce International Collaboration


Kittery, Maine, Jun 9, 2014 -- Fletcher-Thompson, Inc. of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Solus4, LLC of Kittery, Maine announce the signing today of a mutual collaboration agreement to provide architecture and engineering services in the international sector, most significantly in the Middle East and Africa nations. Having worked together on the academic programming for a new university in Iraq, as well as a new hotel and clinic in Ethiopia, the two firms feel that their combined experience and capability will continue to offer international clients a wide range of value-added services.

“This signing will increase our presence in the regions, as well as enable both firms to bring substantially more value to our client relationships,” stated Duncan Pendlebury, President of Solus4. According to Michael Marcinek, Managing Partner of Fletcher- Thompson, “the combined expertise of Solus4 and Fletcher-Thompson will serve to enrich the design experience for our clients in the MENA region.”

Founded in 1910, Fletcher-Thompson is an award-winning architecture, engineering and interior design firm with multiple office locations on the east coast, including Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The firm's body of work is primarily focused on the healthcare, K-12 education, college and university, and corporate areas of practice both domestically as well as internationally. The firm’s leaders are recognized experts in each practice group, and work with their team of design, technical and management professionals to provide outstanding, high-quality work for their clients. In recent years, the firm expanded its interests to several international communities in an effort to offer quality design and program management services, and to enhance the healthcare experience of developing nations through western technology.

Solus4 was founded in 2010, by a group of experienced architects and designers as an architectural studio specializing in architecture, planning and interior design, headquartered in Kittery, Maine. The partners have an extensive background in commercial, residential, institutional and hospitality design. Solus4 operates as a collaborative on a global platform, adding focused experience to each commission through key team members who specialize in architectural design, sustainability strategies, macro planning, project logistics and team management. The partners have brought together over 100 years of experience in successful projects throughout North and South America as well as Europe and the Middle East.
