Toronto, Ontario – July 18, 2005: GeoTango, a leading supplier of 3D/2D mapping and visualization software, announced today that it has entered into a distribution agreement with PCI Geomatics, a leading developer of image-centric geomatics software. Under the agreement PCI and its worldwide reseller network will resell SilverEye, GeoTango’s 3D building and measurement software.
SilverEye is the best way to rapidly generate 3D models of urban areas and facilities of interest. It uniquely builds 3D models and can obtain 2D and 3D measurements using only a single satellite or aerial image. Building textures can be applied using information from the imagery, employing a texture library or from ground photographs. Unlike traditional solutions SilverEye does not require stereo image pairs and expensive hardware systems. Results can be exported to popular GIS and OpenFlight formats.
“We are excited that PCI and its extensive worldwide channel will market SilverEye” says Mike Pastushak, vice president of sales and marketing at GeoTango. “PCI has an outstanding global reputation and we look forward to supporting their marketing efforts.”
“The addition of GeoTango’s SilverEye software further serves to enhance our commitment to bring leading edge technology to the geomatics community” says Michael Agnes, director of software sales. “SilverEye offers exceptional value and functionality to those looking to extract geospatial information from high resolution imagery.”
GeoTango and PCI Geomatics have enjoyed a productive relationship. In 2004, both companies signed agreements allowing GeoTango’s SmartDigitizer to be incorporated into PCI Geomatics flagship software package, Geomatica. SmartDigitizer allows for semi-automated feature extraction from remotely sensed imagery.
