Red Hen Systems Releases Spatial Digital Video Recorder (sDVR)

FORT COLLINS, Colo., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Hen Systems announces the release of its spatial Digital Video Recorder (sDVR). The sDVR is a dramatic improvement in the way video is recorded, collecting time and location along with the video, resulting in an information rich data set.

The sDVR is an innovative progression in Red Hen's video mapping technology. It significantly advances spatial video collection capacity and streamlines the conversion of spatial video into a mapping environment, convenient for review and decision making. The sDVR is a natural fit into any scenario required to map large volumes of data including aerial patrol of pipelines, power lines, waterways, natural disasters, defense and intelligence reconnaissance missions, highway and rail corridor mapping to name a few. "The sDVR provides our customers with the ability to collect large volumes of geo-spatially referenced video in a format quickly accessible for review and decision making by key personnel," according to Neil Havermale, CEO of Red Hen Systems. The sDVR is a complete, real-time geo-spatial MPEG2 video encoding system. Capable of handling four simultaneous video sources, the sDVR encodes GPS position along with voice annotation into the video recording. Each removable hard drive can store up to 20 hours of high quality video, greatly enhancing data collection capability beyond one hour tapes. Tedious and time consuming post-mission conversion of collected video is completely eliminated as the sDVR creates geospatial indexes in real time. Data processing has been transformed into a rapid import operation directly into Red Hen's MediaMapper or GeoVideo for ArcGIS software. Video is automatically associated with the time and location in which it was collected and saved to a map.
