New innovative technologies unveiled from world’s leading rendering engine!

Visitors to the LightWork Design booth (3431) will see some exciting new technological developments which will be released in the coming months. Highlights include:

Caustics in Real-time see it to believe it!
LightWorks is the only rendering solution that can display accurate caustics in real-time. The truly innovative global illumination technology from LightWork Design leapfrogs the rest of the industry. This innovation makes it very easy for users to interactively control and visualize both reflective and refractive caustics from arbitrary surfaces - unlike other renderers that take many minutes or hours to render! A preview demonstration of this unique technology will be running on the LightWork Design booth 3431 – see it to believe it!

Bringing the power of LightWorks to hardware graphics processors
LightWorks Real-time brings the power of LightWorks to graphics processors by providing customers with a cross-platform, cross-hardware solution to integrating hardware-assisted rendering within their applications. Users can then switch back-and-forth between hardware-assisted and software rendering without having to re-author their scenes. Shaders written in the LightWorks shading language will work transparently on all graphics boards that support Cg or OpenGL 2.0. Demonstrations of the power of LightWorks Real-time will be shown on the LightWork Design booth 3431 and nVIDIA booth 2625.

LWA 'going beyond' pretty pictures’
LWA is an exciting new technology that makes it easier for users to create more accurate images faster. Users can download LWA content from, including a wide range of real-world materials, scenery, light studios, colors and procedural shaders, for use in their LWA-Enabled rendering applications.

New plug-in shader technology
LightWorks 7.3 includes full support for cross-platform plug-in shaders written in the advanced, industry standard LightWorks shader language. This provides shader writers with even greater flexibility and customization ability, as well as access to the large number of LightWorks-based applications that are available in the market place. The new plug-in shader technology is encapsulated inside the secure LWA format to allow shaders to be distributed directly to users for importing into their applications.

Providing cross-platform support for RPC content
Cross-platform support for RPC people, trees and other objects is available in LightWorks 7.3. This new functionality is closely integrated into the standard LightWorks API, providing customers with an extremely quick and cost-effective way to add RPC support to their applications.
