New River Kinematics and Brunson Team with Arc Second To Support Innovative New Metrology Technology
DULLES, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2002--Arc Second, Inc., the leading provider of 3D-Intelligence products, today announced that New River Kinematics (NRK), developer of the SpatialAnalyzer suite of advanced metrology tools, now supports Arc Second's revolutionary Constellation 3Di, the world's first proven indoor GPS system with the accuracy, reliability and utility to support large-scale metrology.
NRK's SpatialAnalyzer is widely considered the most powerful software package for acquiring, analyzing and reporting metrology data. The seamless integration of Constellation 3Di and SpatialAnalyzer will provide users with powerful new data collection capabilities combined with industry-standard analysis software already familiar to users.
According to Arc Second's president and CEO, Edward Barrientos, "The integration of NRK's SpatialAnalyzer and Constellation 3Di will speed the adoption of indoor GPS in the large-scale metrology marketplace. NRK's decision to interface with Constellation 3Di signals to the entire industry that indoor GPS is here to stay."
NRK's SpatialAnalyzer is distributed by Brunson, a metrology solutions provider headquartered in Kansas City, MO. Most recently, Brunson created the Industrial Measurement Solutions (IMS) division to help customers solve complex metrology problems. IMS provides integrated solutions that combine the components and products best-suited for a particular application.
"We see great potential for combining the real-time analysis, inspecting and reporting capabilities of Spatial Analyzer with the large-scale measuring capabilities of Constellation 3Di," commented Rick Cole, Vice President for Brunson. "This software and hardware combination will offer many manufacturers a new cost-effective measurement solution for inspection, building, and assembly operations."
About Constellation 3Di
Constellation 3Di was developed utilizing Arc Second's proprietary 3D-Intelligence technology and is the first proven indoor GPS system with the accuracy, reliability and utility to support large-scale metrology. Using signals from transmitters that emit infrared light, small receivers can calculate their position coordinates independently. Like GPS, the number of receivers in a single workspace is unlimited. Uses include the measurement and inspection of large tooling, sub-assemblies and infrastructure in the aerospace, automotive, rail, and shipbuilding industries. Constellation 3Di is providing facility owners, metrologists, toolmakers and other users of accurate coordinate data with unparalleled flexibility in collecting critical metrology data.
