Chartered Reiterates Guidance for Second Quarter

MILPITAS, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 7, 2007— Today, in its scheduled mid-quarter update, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (Nasdaq: CHRT) (SGX-ST:CHARTERED) reaffirmed its second quarter 2007 guidance, which was originally provided on April 27, 2007.

"The quarter is essentially progressing in line with what we had anticipated earlier, and therefore we are reiterating the guidance we originally provided in April," said George Thomas, senior vice president & CFO of Chartered.

Chartered plans to release second quarter 2007 results on Friday, July 27, 2007, Singapore time, before the Singapore market opens.
